System Requirements

computerDatamed® software runs as service level applications on Microsoft® Windows operating systems. It can be installed on the host system management system if the manufacturer allows that, or on a separate server with network access to the management system.

The software itself has minimal hardware requirements so the overall hardware requirements are more dependent on the operating system and other applications running on the assigned system. Please consult with your Information Technology Staff to determining the exact specifications or minimums in your department.

The minimum system requirements for Datamed® software are as follows:

OS:
Windows Server 2016
Windows Server 2019
Windows Server 2022
Windows Server 2025
Memory:
4GB
Storage:
40 GB for program operation. If EKGs will be archived they will require approximately 50-200MB per 1000 EKGs (depending on source format)
LAN:
A connection to the hospital network. No internet connection is needed. (two connections if systems must straddle two LAN’s).
USB:
One USB-A port is required only when using a Hardware License Key on a physical server.
Software:
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 (or higher) is required for all Datamed® products

Virtual Machines:

Datamed® software can be run inside a virtual machine that runs a compatible operating system. Our software has been tested with the following VMWare® Products: ESXi Server, Workstation, and Fusion. If a Software License Key is used it will be installed and activated on the VM and remain on the VM permanently. If a Hardware License Key is used then the VM must have access to the USB license key. For single-server installations the key can be plugged into the host computer and assigned to the VM, while in a clustered environment a USB-to-Ethernet adapter such as Digi’s AnywhereUSB can be used to move the license key to the network.
